seeing as it was 3 years till i was the twinkle in my old mans eye, 1966 holds no memories for me. and my big book of arsenal press clippings shows only the report after the 4-2 win against man-u.

the summer of 66 must have been a small tonic for you after your ‘annus horribilis’

great story tony, brings back memories of those billy wright days.
The football was really terrible it was so bad sometimes we use to play cards on the north bank while the match was in progress, but would never miss a match. Joe Baker was my hero followed by Geof strong they use to score countless goals between them only trouble was our defence was terrible, and what does he do he sells 2 of our best players baker and eastman, must have been one of our worst managers

But, What an array of stars there? To think that they couldn’t win, eh! The physiotherapist, Bertie Mee as manager in 1966 soon began to change things though.
