A not that convincing performance from the ref in general.
The foul spotting was a weak point in the first half. That improved a bit in the second half but still rather too many missed clear fouls.

He let Granero off the hook in this game. On 3 occasions he should have been given a yellow card. He only got one. The red card was okay. What was Mbia thinking at that moment? Kicking at an opponent without the ball even near is always a red card.

The goal was offside from Arteta. The ball came of Ramsey could be seen in the replay but it was not clear from the first moment as the QPR player kicked the ball and that came on the leg of Ramsey. But with the ball then moving forward Arteta was offside.

With a few players between the touch of the ball from Ramsey and the assistant on the far side it will have been almost impossible for the assistant to see who moved the ball to Arteta.
The instructions are that in case of doubt you give the decision to the attacker. The assistant did this I think. But it was an offside and should have been ruled out.

If there would have been a review system the goal probably would have been cancelled.

Looks like again we got the disadvantages from the referee allowing blatant fouling.
Fair enough, the goal was offside.
But I’m a fan – I’m still glad we got it!

I had a feeling, during this game that the ref was leaning towards QPR. This report has not disabused me of the idea! The offside goal was not his direct responsibility but allowing a mobile fouling machine to roam the pitch for 97 minutes was! Excellent report and thanks.

I don’t agree with the direction that the scoring system is going; there are never any NC worth only 1 point. Certainly important decisions should be weighted more heavily (such as goals, red cards), but when it is a simple no call on a foul and then you make it a 3 point decision by saying ‘should have been a yellow card’ then you skew the end percentages.

I wouldn’t say that this is inherently unfair, because they are your reviews and you can score them how you want, but if you are going to continue to use the line “they say above 90% of the calls are correct and we show otherwise”, then you should say that using a simple x/total calls were correct to get your percentage. More and more it appears that a ref will get 95% of the decision right, but every incorrect call is weighted so heavily that you end up giving him a 75% correctness rate.
