Arsenal v Hull – spitting, wrong pitch, wrong clothes, and other historic moments

The story of Arsenal v Hull in recent years is one of the strangest tales that there is in football, full of wild and crazed accusations (none of which stand up in court).

Such stories reveal behind them the tale of a man ill-at-ease with his work, and a club which at the time were clearly not quite sorted as to how they wanted to behave.

As a result, one particular Arsenal v Hull event made every headline, and gave a lot of people a lot of laughs.

If you feel like a little trip down memory lane, the Arsenal History site returns to the events of March 2009 – and indeed other matches between the two clubs in “The Wild Men Of Hull”

Meanwhile we also have an interesting double anniversary today – the anniversary of the first ever Arsenal / Tottenham league match and the anniversary of the first ever Arsenal / Tottenham cup semi final.  (Well actually the second leg of the first ever cup semi final – but close enough.

You can read about that cup semi-final and reflect on just where Arsenal were in the footballing elite at the time, in our anniversary article of the day

    Sinners and redemption….

A teenage boy walks into confession. “Forgive me father for I have sinned. I suck the penises of old men for money. One man wouldn’t pay me when I’d finished, so I pushed him to the ground, kicked him, and stole his watch. I’m afraid he may go to the police. What should I do?”

The priest thinks for a moment, before saying, “Just buy me a new watch and we’ll call it quits.”

    Wait a minute….

“Forgive me father, for I have sinned. I told a lie just to earn some money.”

” God will forgive you, remember to put money into the donation box.”

@ elkieno – Don’t worry , it’ll come to you suddenly in a flash of light and all will be revealed !
    Along the same lines …

Today I went to confessional at my local church. I said to the priest: “forgive me father for I have sinned, it’s been six months since my last confession.”

He asked what I would like to confess so I told him: “I’m going to blackmail somebody father.”

    “Why?” He asked.

“Because they have committed a terrible act father.”

“Why not go to the police?” Questioned the priest.

“Because I need the money father.” I replied.

“What terrible act has this unfortunate soul committed?” He asked.
“I saw him touching a choir boy inappropriately, sound familiar motherfucker?”
