In 2007 the Premiership managed to announce that they had no power to control private agreements between clubs. This arose because Man U had an agreement with Everton over the use of a Man U goalkeeper on loan to Everton. Man U insisted the player could not be used in certain games. Other teams protested, and that's when the Premiership - guardians of the laws and rules, admitted their rules had nothing to say about private agreements between clubs. |
