The BBC Sky dub Arsenal Guardian Sunday Times Sky/Sultana Sultana The Sun

Home Up

Trying to outdo Sky Satanta have tried to up the chit chat at half time.  They have a character called "Macca" and some other guy.

It's all been fairly mundane stuff, or at least it was until December 2007 when Aston Village played Arsenal.  Arsenal gave Villa a complete lesson in football, playing a glorious development of Absolute Football, and taking a two goal lead.

At half time, seeing Villa utterly outplayed by a team in a different world, the Macca fellow along with the other one spent the entire half time suggesting that Villa ought to kick the hell out of Arsenal, to avoid being utterly embarrassed by the final scoreline.

This Village duly did, and the commentators encouraged them throughout the second half.  Helb was hacked to pieces, and other players suffered serious knocks (Flamini like Hleband Fabregas was then out for several weeks).

It was one of the most atrocious exhibitions of bad commentating ever seen on UK tv.
